1) reading things from you that make me laugh hard.
2) screaming singing my head off and dancing in my seat to the full blast blaring music while driving (thank you “Chicago 17”).
3) watching one of those killer awesome movie screen kisses that really curls my toes, glues my eyes to the screen, raises my heartbeat, makes me hold my breath for a second, and makes me want to …
4) this morning, a friend of ours inviting me and hubby over to dinner and she started to say we’d be doing pa..bla bla bla. and i asked, “pa p sm ears?” and the two friends and i just laughed our heads off! they couldn’t believe i said that. it wasn’t like i said something reallllly awful 🙂
5) laughing my guts out with no inhibition … so hard that i can barely breathe. snort laughing, too. no, you start, you get me started, and then i start, and we can’t breathe. and it is so fun and then i feel like i just ran a couple laps.
6) seeing one of the little ones when they first realize i am there. seeing their face get excited and smiley. seeing and hearing them yell the name they call me, and while squealing, they run down the hall and crash into me with a big hug.
7) this week, 15 y/o daughter ~E telling her dad (my hubby) that she’d missed talking to her dad. this is the first really tender thing she has told him since she ran away in august (see “my articles” above if you don’t know what i am talking about and want to know more). it gets to me, tears my eyes up this week to realize she said this. she is a tough teenager and i will take any sweet moment that she will give. it is a glimpse for me of hopefully what she will be like when she gets through this teenager phase. there is hope.
8 ) because he did something cute and silly right before he left, not being able to stop thinking about my hubby while he is on a day trip snowmachining (“snowmobile” for non-alaskans).
9) cuddling up to my groomed mini schnauzer luka who loves to cuddle.
10) sharing a tender and tight hug with a friend who means the world to me. and not wanting to be the first one to let go. feeling loved in an embrace.
now go hug someone, kathleen xoxo
ps. what feels so good to you?
I love this list, especially #5… I had that reaction the first time I heard about ‘cow-tipping.’ I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pass out. Feels good… waking up on a Saturday morning, all warm and toasty, knowing I can go back to sleep for as long as I want.
We spent about 2 hours this AM watching videos of the girls from 2002-2005. They were so cute and fatty and baby then. They had a ball, and I got so babyhungry!!!
naps would be a top proiority especially today after no sleep last night or the night before because i was up throwing up…yeah betcha wanted to hear that….
I will make a list on my blog so you will have to check it out. Corrine
Well, I must admit I have had more and more lately that makes me feel good, which definitely is a good thing!
Just a ‘few’ examples:
– Cuddling up with my kids,
– listening to great, uplifting music,
– singing (or maybe, more screaming in my case ;-)) along with one of those great songs,
– watching funny movies,
– enjoying the beauties of nature on a long hike, for one reason or the other, I always feel I appreciate those beauties more when I try to photograph or draw them. My attention is more focused, more serene then.
– and of course: feeling loved and hugged with a loved one, and knowing he or she feels the same..
I really, really love your number 6.. It really is great isn’t it? It reminds me of a beautiful quote from Oprah, who once said that every child ‘deserves at least one person in their life whose eyes light up when they enter the room’. No matter how tired, stressed or lousy I feel, when I see them, that is something I’m clinging on to. Seeing the effect it has on them is priceless..
Big hug to you!!
Ellen
I love so many of these things. What a great list!
I totally sing and dance while I’m in the car. I get funny looks sometimes but I don’t care! It makes me happy.
Great list–and great idea FOR a list!
Belly laughin’ is da best:)
Getting a few minutes to myself–priceless. (The boy just went to bed, and, my, it’s nice after a day like today!)
Great list! enjoyed reading what feels good! 🙂
