i love it when music soothes my soul …
i enjoyed the music in church yesterday, but i tell you, one young woman (about 15 y/o) totally blew me away with a special singing number.
~L sang solo this song called “mary’s lullaby” and i just melted. i especially LOVED the verse ” … for you are a King, but tonight you are mine…” i choked up repeatedly while she sang. and she looked up toward heaven when she sang instead of at us and her eyes welled with tears as she sang. this still makes me tear up just to write about this moment. wow, she totally nailed it. she touched me. i was mesmorized in that moment and i didn’t want her singing to end. i love it when someone singing can capture me like that — make me forget everything else and just completely focus on that and eat that up. just beautiful. so glad i was there.
i found her after church and even though i don’t know her, i told her over and over that she nailed it, that i was so touched, that she did a beautiful beautiful job. wow, she has been given such a talent, such a gift. i hope she shares her gift with me/us again. she looked so happy, surprised even … humble and sweet … to hear this praise over her solo.
we are so blessed when music can move our souls like this.
beautiful moment, kathleen

I’m always in awe of people who can sing. I need to go and check out that song.
